🎆 That’s a Wrap
Denver knows how to do the Fourth. From drone shows to baseball booms and community parades to park picnics, there’s no shortage of ways to spend your Independence Day. So grab your glow sticks, layer on the sunscreen, and cue the “oohs” and “ahhs”—it’s almost showtime. ✅ Answer:B) November 17, 1858 Denver was first platted on November 17, 1858, as “Denver City” in what was then Kansas Territory. It was later incorporated in 1861 and officially became the City and County of Denver in 1902. And yep—it was named after Kansas Governor James W. Denver, who may or may not have ever visited the city named in his honor. 🤷♂️ Now that’s what we call vintage city pride! 🇺🇸 Happy Fourth from all of us at What’s Happenin’ Denver! Let freedom (and fireworks) ring. 🎇 — The What’s Happenin’ Denver Team 🫶 |
